What to Expect
In this module, you'll learn to prepare for supporting people living with dementia by familiarizing yourself with their individualized plans and applying person-centered care approaches. You’ll support the participation of individuals in activities that align with their preferences and promote independence, while maintaining a balance between dignity of risk and duty of care. The module covers using a strengths-based approach to identify behavior triggers and implement strategies to reduce stressors and adverse outcomes.
