In this module, you will learn to identify standards, guidelines, and infection risks relevant to your role, understanding the responsibilities of yourself and others in infection prevention and control. You will implement control measures and communicate effectively about risk management, recording identified risks and strategies. The module emphasizes following standard and transmission-based precautions, including personal hygiene, hand hygiene, proper use of PPE, and environmental cleaning. You'll learn to respond to potential and actual infection risks by assessing and taking appropriate actions, communicating breaches, and implementing control measures. Additionally, you will document incidents, ensure proper storage of records and materials, and follow procedures for managing spills and exposure to blood or body fluids.
